Four Corners aired an episode last night (Series 2018 Super Risk) which revealed that many Australians do not know which superannuation fund receives their benefits nor do they know what their current superannuation balance is. This is alarming, given that these monies will one day fund their retirement living and lifestyle costs.

For many people, their superannuation balance is their biggest asset after their home. However, for numerous individuals, superannuation receives very little attention and is instead an afterthought when retirement is fast approaching.

Actively reviewing and monitoring your superannuation from a young age will have a compounding effect which can make a significant difference at retirement.
