A self managed superannuation fund is a fund with less than 5 members where all of the members of the fund are also trustees.

They may be individual trustees or directors of a corporate trustee. As such the members will take full control of the fund's investment, management, and administrative decision making.

This is usually done with the assistance of an external service provider such as an accounting practice.
