If a person becomes a disqualified person then they are no longer permitted to be a trustee of their SMSF. Refer to Section 126K of Superannuation Industry Supervision Act 1993 (SISA 1993).

A disqualified person includes someone that is insolvent under administration, i.e. a bankrupt.  Refer Section 120 of SISA 1993.
